Alhamdulillah, a major humanitarian milestone has been achieved for the residents of Kabirwala with the successful establishment of a new public graveyard. This initiative addresses a long-standing social need and reflects the power of community unity and collective responsibility.

Background: Addressing a Growing Social Need
Kabirwala is a rapidly growing city where population expansion over the years placed significant pressure on public burial spaces. Existing graveyards had reached full capacity, leaving many families facing serious difficulties during times of grief. In several cases, citizens were forced to seek burial arrangements in distant areas, adding emotional and logistical hardship.
This situation highlighted the urgent need for a sustainable and dignified solution to ensure that every resident could bury their loved ones with respect and ease.

Formation of the Welfare Movement
Recognizing this pressing need, about a year ago Mola Shan Trust launched a structured welfare initiative. The founder of the trust, Arbab Jahangir Edhi, initiated the movement with a personal contribution of PKR 300,000.
To build a strong foundation for the campaign, respected members of the business community, social organizations, the legal fraternity, and the press were invited to participate. The initiative was formally named the Kabirwala Graveyard Movement. Riaz Shahid Khan Pannian, Advocate, was appointed as Convener, while Syed Farrukh Shah took on the role of Secretary. A joint bank account was established to ensure full financial transparency and accountability.
Community Engagement and Fundraising

A comprehensive fundraising and awareness campaign was carried out across the city. Donation camps were organized, direct outreach was made to philanthropists, and social media platforms were used to mobilize public support.
The response from the citizens was overwhelmingly positive. Volunteers, youth groups, elders, and donors from all walks of life contributed generously. This collective effort demonstrated a strong sense of civic unity and compassion.
Acquisition of Land for the New Graveyard
Through sustained effort and transparent financial management, the movement successfully purchased 13 kanal and 10 marla of land designated for the new public graveyard. The selected site is spacious and strategically located to meet the city’s long-term needs.
This achievement represents more than the purchase of land; it symbolizes trust, cooperation, and a shared commitment to public welfare.
Legal Transfer and Administrative Oversight
To ensure proper governance and long-term sustainability, the land was officially transferred to Tehsil Municipal Committee Kabirwala. This step guarantees organized management, proper record-keeping, and protection from future legal or administrative complications.
The arrangement ensures equal and dignified access for all citizens and establishes a structured system for maintaining the facility.

Appreciation for Community Support
The success of this initiative is the result of collective dedication. Deep appreciation is extended to all donors, volunteers, organizers, and supporters who contributed financially or through their time and effort. Their participation has provided the people of Kabirwala with a permanent and respectful burial space, representing a lasting act of community service.
Looking Ahead
This project stands as a powerful example of what can be achieved when sincere leadership and community cooperation come together. With continued unity and commitment, further welfare initiatives can be pursued for the betterment of the city.
May Allah reward all contributors and make this facility a lasting source of ease and dignity for generations to come.
Kabirwala Graveyard Movement — a testament to unity, service, and shared responsibility.
